A series of tweets from Blackface on Tuesday, revealed an animosity between the duo that has hitherto, managed to stay below the surface of their relationship. At the centre of the controversy was Tuface’s ‘Let Somebody Love You’, one of the songs on his ‘Ascension’ album, which Blackface had alleged was originally his song but ended up being nicked by Tuface.

Facebook Moves to Ban Private Gun Sales on Its Site and Instagram

Image
Facebook is banning private sales of guns on its flagship social network and its Instagram photo-sharing service, a move meant to clamp down on unlicensed gun transactions. Facebook already prohibits people from offering marijuana, pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs for sale, and the company said on Friday that it was updating its policy to include guns. The ban applies to private, person-to-person sales of guns. Licensed gun dealers and gun clubs can still maintain Facebook pages and post on Instagram. Although Facebook was not directly involved in gun sales, it has served as a forum for gun sales to be negotiated, without people having to undergo background checks. The social network, with 1.6 billion monthly visitors, had become one of the world’s largest marketplaces for guns and was increasingly evolving into an e-commerce site where it could facilitate transactions of goods. The ban thrusts Facebook into the center of another major societal debate. Discussions over gun co...

Image
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday accused the UN chief of “encouraging terror” after Ban Ki-moon spoke of Palestinian frustration at Israel’s occupation and said it was natural to resist. “The comments of the UN Secretary General encourage terror,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “There is no justification for terror.” The AFP reported that earlier, Ban told the UN Security Council of the “profound sense of alienation and despair driving some Palestinians – especially young people” in the upsurge of attacks on Israelis since the start of October. “Palestinian frustration is growing under the weight of a half century of occupation and the paralysis of the peace process,” he said. A Tiny Selfie Drone You Don’t Need To Register With The FAA

Image
The palm-sized ONAGOfly is an affordable GPS-enabled drone that automatically takes photos using smile and obstacle recognition technology. Normally the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires registration for unmanned aircraft systems. Nearly 300,000 drone owners have registered since the government introduced this rule in early January. However, this bite-sized flying camera is so small (0.3 lbs) it doesn’t need to be on the books. According to the FAA rules, only drones weighing more than 0.55 lbs or 250 grams must register but because the ONAGOfly is so small, it flies right under the regulation. This little drone goes for $199 on Indiegogo right now ($299 after campaign ends) and comes with built-in obstacle avoidance sensors, as well as some other features usually reserved for larger, more expensive drones like 15 MP camera, 1080p HD video, throw and fly capability (you throw it up and it automatically starts to fly), resistant to wind speeds up to1.6-3.3 m/s, pee...

Meet the 12-year-old Nigerian prodigy that could spark a bidding war between Nigeria and the US

Image
12-year-old US-born striker, Lateef Omidiji Jr, currently plays for the Under-14 team of Netherlands second division side Dordrecht FC. However, he already has a place reserved for him in the Nigeria U15 side based on first hand scouting by its coach Danladi Nasidi. Coach Nasidi traveled to the US to watch him play in 2014 and came out of the experience knowing he had something on his hands. “He has speed, focus, the technique is so good, the tactical approach is fine and he has the physical ability. These things combine to make a good footballer,” Nasidi told Goal. “He’s a small boy and if he comes to play for Nigeria, it will be good for Nigeria,” he declared. Perhaps not every 12-year-old gets to be spoken so highly of at his age. Lateef Jr. is currently leading scoring at his youth side despite being two years younger than his teammates and opponents. He told Goal that he would like to represent Nigeria someday like his heroes Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Amokachi, Austin ‘Ja...
